Lazy Saturday (Day 4)

Everybody's really sleepy in our bay today. Weekends are a lot quieter, with fewer staff around.

2 of the guys here urgently need radiotherapy which won't happen till the start of next week. I just hope they're not losing valuable time. Cancer doesn't have a pause button.

As for me, just about half-way through my 1st chemo regime, i'm keeping on top of the nausea with regular medication. The photo shows my morning fix, the plastic tube is the chemo drip.
Each 1lt infusion drip bag (lasts 22hrs) costs the NHS up to £1000, so they make sure every last drop goes in!

The main challenge for me is the mental one at the moment. Splitting up my day a bit like Hugh Grant in About a Boy into units seems to help. Reading - 2 units, Dozing - 1 unit, Blogging - 2 units Nattering Visits etc.

Claudia's parents arrived in Bath last night. It'll be great to see them.

  2. I am so glad to hear that you aren't totally overcome with Nausea! That was actually the worst part for Dan. He was not hospitalized like you - it probably would have helped if he was - and he went in for 4 hours of 4 different chemo drugs at once and then went home and he did not talk to me for at least 3 days! He just lay on the bathroom floor the majority of the time.

All that to say that you are really in a good place restrictive as it is! I know that you are totally being brought through all this, like we were and I suspect you will come out with some intense revelations of how much He actually loves us. So weird eh, how in the midst of this suffering there is such an awareness of Him! Anyway, I am glad to hear that you are enduring well (comparitively)!

  3. And Claudikins, I hope that you are holding up well too. I know how helpless you can feel watching someone you love so dearly going through all that stuff. It's awesome to hear Pete's attitude in through it all though. What a blessing! I love you!!

  4. Please give lots of love from us all to Claus and Krista - hope we get to see them soon. We're staying away at present - got sore throats.
